My Story
I am the passionate owner + a photographer of Northern Roots Photography. What started as hobby when I was a child, became something much more than I ever thought possible after college. I fell in love with the deep beauty of life that many people can easily overlook. I found myself passionate about meeting new people, capturing their stories and getting to know them on deeper levels. I officially gave my work a name of Northern Roots Photography back in 2018 and never looked back. My heart is in so many places I've traveled and in all of the marvels of the world I've yet to explore. I'm happiest when I'm in the mountains or in the most northern forests of Wisconsin - hence the name: Northern Roots.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin, but I have always loved to travel thanks to a childhood of camping and road trips. I believe I was born with a restless soul and a compass in my hand, always searching for something new to see. I am a 20 something, live-in-the-moment adventurer, dog mom, wanna-be chef, and a lover of life. In October 2023, the love of my life proposed to me during a duck hunt, and in June 2024, I married him in Alaska! When ya know ya know! Ya know?
If you haven't caught on by now, I am an outdoors type of gal. I love doing anything that leads to any sort of adventure: fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, camping, traveling, photography (of course) - you name it, I'm up for it!

I am so proud to introduce my amazing associate photography team. Some wedding dates are very sought after, and I tend to book up for wedding dates early on. I now offer an Associate Photography Wedding Collection specifically for couples still looking to have the opportunity to work with Northern Roots by offering more availability or by helping you stay within a specific budget. My associate team is made up of amazing photographers that I have personally handpicked and trained in my style and are here to help!
Each member of our team believes in my brand and has worked closely with me on wedding days and even engagement sessions to learn my work and values. Think of my amazing associate as a clone of myself, similar to a second shooter, but our associate will be the lead photographer for your wedding day if you choose our Associate Photography Wedding Collection.
My everyday interactions include the main communications with our clients through email, video and phone calls, check-ins, creating your event timelines, coordinating all of the calendars, locations, sending out your style + prep guides, and answering all the questions for you and contacting other vendors! I also get to personally edit all of your engagement sessions and magical wedding days.
I also take care of all the boring side of business like sending out proposals, doing taxes, insurance, etc etc.

We'll start with a strategy and consultation call about your plans and get excited about your session or wedding day! This initial meeting is chatting all about you and your love story, your vision and ideas for your wedding or photography session. We can brainstorm together and go through the process in more detail. Here is where all of your questions will be answered!
If you're loving what you're seeing and hearing, it's time to sign + get you locked in for your date!
A signed contract and 25% down (non-refundable retainer) is required to officially book your wedding or portrait session.

Over the next several weeks and months, I am always here for you throughout your planning journey and will continue to check in with you through the process. When you book with me, you'll have exclusive access my NRP guides for each session & wedding day to help you along.

It's time! After all of the planning, our meetings and chats, it's your time to shine! I will capture your session/wedding day with all the love and passion. You will receive sneak peeks shortly after your session or big day!

QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE...ANSWERED
Q: Do you charge a cancellation fee?
Q: Where are you based? Do you travel?
Nope! There is no cancellation fee for weddings/sessions. However, the retainer payment is non-refundable once paid. If you need to change your date, all payments will transfer to your new date.
Q: Do you backup our photos?
My official office location is in Northern Wisconsin, in the small town of Fifield, WI and I also work out of East Troy, WI often and will travel all over Wisconsin for my couples. I absolutely LOVE to TRAVEL and have traveled to many different cities and states for elopements and weddings. I will travel where needed for engagement/portrait sessions, too! With my team, together, we are able to serve all areas of Wisconsin!
Yes! I always have at least two camera bodies with dual card slots for all weddings. Your photos are backed up immediately after the wedding/sessions to multiple hard drives. I never delete the original images off my SD cards until your final gallery is delivered.
Q: How many images will we receive?
I will typically deliver between 50-75 images per hour of coverage as a minimum as long as your wedding day goes as planned/no major changes from our timeline/everyone is corporative. I know how important these photos will be to you and will be for years to come, so I truly believe it's important to capture and share the big and little memories that you will have with your favorite people.
Q: Do you charge travel fees?
Wedding day travel is included in all of my packages. I do charge a small travel fee of $.67 per 100+ miles round trip for engagement and portraits sessions depending where I or the team is during availability.
NRP Evergreen Wedding Collection does include all same-day Wisconsin travel. We can discuss what this will look like for you before any bookings.
Sometimes this happens! If you need me to stay longer than we originally scheduled, we will discuss this. I will invoice you for the additional coverage after the wedding. Additionally, sometimes we when we begin to put together your timeline, we find out that you may need an extra hour of coverage. We can add this on at that time and any payments can be added onto your final balance or paid separately.
Q. Do you edit all the photos you give us?
Yes! I personally hand edit every single photo in your gallery. I pour my heart and soul into every image! Editing is a huge part of a photographer's art work and style. I do not deliver RAW or unedited images at any time.
Q: Do you bring a second photographer?
A second photographer is included in two of my most popular wedding packages. If you would like to have a second photographer for your wedding, just let me know and we can definitely add that on! If you're not sure if you'll need one, we can discuss this in more detail during your consultation. Having a second shooter will really depend on your timeline and events that your day entails and/or your budget. I will always suggest it, as my associates get some amazing shots, moments, and angles that I can't always get or can be where I can't. Second photographers are also great for tight timelines or if you want to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests.
